【摘要】:ThesetestmethodsaredesignedtobroadenthescopeoftheearliereditionsofthetestmethodbytheinclusionoftalloilandtalloilderivedproductsastestmaterialsandwillbereferencedinTestMethodsD803.Theacidnumberisanimportantpropertyofnavalstoresproducts,talloil,andtheproductsobtainedbythefractionationoftalloil.Itisthetestmethodwidelyusedtodeterminethetotalfreeacidcontentoftheseproducts.Thepotentiometrictestmethodshouldbeusedwhenthemostreproducibleresultsarerequired.1.1ThesetestmethodsareintendedfordeterminingtheacidnumberofnavalstoreproductsasdefinedinTerminologyD804includingtalloilproducts,woodandgumrosin,andotherrelatedmaterials.Thesetestmethodsmaynotbeapplicabletoallmodifiedrosinproducts.Twotestmethodsarecovered,asfollows:1.1.1Potentiometricmethod(referee),and1.1.2Internalindicatormethod(alternate).1.2Thepotentiometricmethodissuitableforusewithbothlight-anddark-coloredproducts.Itshouldbeconsideredtherefereemethod.Theinternalindicatormethodissuitableforuseonlywithlight-andmedium-coloredproductswithaGardnercoloroflessthan12.Itshouldbeconsideredthealternatemethod.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
