【摘要】:Uranylnitratesolutionisusedasafeedmaterialforconversiontothehexafluorideaswellasfordirectconversiontotheoxide.Inordertobesuitableforthispurpose,thematerialmustmeetcertaincriteriaforuraniumcontent,isotopiccomposition,acidity,radioactivity,andimpuritycontent.ThesemethodsaredesignedtoshowwhetheragivenmaterialmeetsthespecificationsfortheseitemsdescribedinSpecificationC788.3.1.1Anassayisperformedtodeterminewhetherthematerialhasthespecifieduraniumcontent.3.1.2Determinationoftheisotopiccontentoftheuraniumismadetoestablishwhethertheeffectivefissilecontentisinaccordancewiththepurchaserrsquo;specifications.3.1.3Acidity,organiccontent,andalpha,beta,andgammaactivityaremeasuredtoestablishthattheydonotexceedtheirmaximumlimits.3.1.4Impuritycontentisdeterminedtoensurethatthemaximumconcentrationlimitofcertainimpurityelementsisnotexceeded.Impurityconcentrationsarealsorequiredforcalculationoftheequivalentboroncontent(EBC),andthetotalequivalentboroncontent(TEBC).1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforthechemical,massspectrometric,spectrochemical,nuclear,andradiochemicalanalysisofnuclear-gradeuranylnitratesolutiontodeterminecompliancewithspecifications.1.2Theanalyticalproceduresappearinthefollowingorder:1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection5.
